REGIONAL PR AWARDS FOR SCOTLAND AND NI

The 2014 PRCA DARE Awards kicked off in Edinburgh last week with an event tailored towards PR practitioners from the Scotland and Northern Ireland regions. The awards followed a conference that discussed everything from the state of the PR industry, to the 2020 talent gap.

The conference covered regionally specific topics, as well as broader issues, and discussed the experiences of PR practitioners at every level of experience and seniority. Held at The George Hotel in Edinburgh, the conference attracted both in-house and agency attendants.

In the evening the DARE Awards celebrated some of the most outstanding campaigns to come out of Scotland and NI in the past year. Winners included the Scottish Government, Stripe Communications and CM Porter Novelli. There were ten categories overall with PR teams coming from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dunfermline. PRCA director general Francis Ingham says, “I’d like to commend all of the winners of this year’s DARE Awards in Edinburgh. Not only have they revealed a wealth of PR talent, but with these campaigns we’ve seen some truly innovative methods of communication. I’d also like to thank our judges, who had a huge job on their hands to agree on the winners.”

The DARE conferences and awards will continue to celebrate excellence in regional PR over the next few months with events across the length and breadth of the UK.
