MAKING AN IMPACT IN IC

The theme at this year’s CIPR Inside conference is ‘Making an Impact’.

Steven Murgatroyd, CIPR Inside vice chair, says, “Making an impact is a core theme for CIPR Inside and central to our strategy as the professional body for internal communicators and employee engagement experts. We know that good internal communication is good for business and makes an impact on success. We’ve worked with award-winning professionals to bring our members and the IC community a great day packed full of practical case studies, advice and tips to take back to the office and help us all to make an impact in our work.”

The annual, one-day conference is dedicated to internal communications and those who practice it. Communications professionals use the event as an opportunity to network with their contemporaries and share ideas that they can then implement in their own, various organisations.

In reflection of last year’s feedback, the CIPR Inside committee has changed the venue to a central London location and is implementing shorter talks (half an hour each) and more case studies. Speakers from allthingsIC, GSK, Lockheed Martin, Clarks and Oxfam, have already been announced.

Channels and measurement will be the topics of this year’s discussion sessions, where the audience will be invited to take part. Kevin Ruck, measurement expert and PR will lead on the subject of measurement for the achievement of meaningful outcomes. Murgatroyd says, “We’re an active committee and our members attend lots of events and know what works and what doesn’t. So we are working with carefully selected conference partners, sponsors and speakers to create a really inspiring and fulfilling day. Each case study will demonstrate best practice, show where they overcame any challenges and show how they measured their success. With two open discussion sessions where the audience will get involved, it’s set to be a thought provoking, inclusive and insightful day.”

The conference will be held at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London on 13 October. CIPR Inside is the Chartered Institute of Public Relations' specialist group for internal communicators. For more information, visit the website here.
