BEER SOL ANNOUNCES BREWING WITH SOLAR ENERGY
Heineken UK’s has announced it is now brewed with solar energy, marking an important milestone in the brand’s journey to reduce its carbon footprint, as part of the brand’s broader commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility.
The decision follows the installation of 4,000 solar panels at its UK brewery and more than 9,000 panels at its Dutch brewery. The initiative is part of ‘brewing a better world,’ one of the company’s top business priority that aims at increasing the share of renewable energy in production to 70% by 2030, and focuses on three areas: reducing CO2 emissions, sourcing sustainability and protecting water resources.
“Brewing Sol with renewable energy from solar power is the latest milestone in implementing this important strategy, and in doing so, offering a more sustainable option for customers. By making a step-change to brewing with solar energy, Sol is helping to reduce carbon emissions in production by increasing the share of renewable energy,” says Premium Beer unit brand director at Heineken UK, Matt Saltzstein.
All primary and secondary packaging include in the tagline ‘Brewed with solar energy,’ reflecting the achievement and highlighting the new credentials to eco-conscious shoppers.
