BURGER KING UK GIFTS ITS INSTA TO HELP INDEPENDENT RESTAURANTS
The UK branch of fast food giant Burger King has launched a campaign #WhopperAndFriends which lends its Instagram account to independent restaurants to help them gain visibility as the UK enter tier three across more parts of the country.
Independent restaurants will have the possibility to advertise on Burger King’s Instagram for free by sharing pictures of their signature dishes with the hashtag #WhopperAndFriends, which will then get reposted by Burger King.
Burger King’s Instagram, which currently has 29.6k followers, will platform the picture, name and menu to show that ‘there is more to life than the Whopper,’ the chain’s signature burger, as an act of solidarity to the hospitality industry. The campaign hopes to point customers to smaller, lesser known restaurants that are going through economic hardship.
